Attitude? What attitude?

One Pissy Shasta. She was a bit perturbed that she had to share the attention everyone was receiving. You would think she's ignored on a constant basis. Not! She probably gets more attention then any of the other foals out there, only because she Demands it! Look out Amy cause she's going to be a pisser. Feel like ignoring her for a day? Guess again! She has her own notions on that front! ; ) She's quite the character.

Our first really cold day.....

Amazingly, no one gave me any trouble about putting their blankets on. Imagine that! Elly stood there like she's had one on many many times. She's such an old soul. Yes that is mud that Elly is standing on. Frozen mud at that! My hose froze and split. Who would have ever thought it would be a challenge to find a hose in winter?

Christmas

Hannah on Christmas morning. She ripped through her presents in record time. Notice the cowboy boots she got in the second picture. Once we put them on, she refused to take them off! LOL

The first thing she said to me when she got here was, "I wanna ride my pony!" Dear Lord..... I am in so much trouble with this one! She's never been on a horse, let alone allowed to get any where near them as of yet. Once she figures it out, I can see her hopping on and going for a little ride, unbeknown st to Grandma. Oy..... I better keep a really close eye on Ms. Hannah! ;) At least I'll have one grandchild that will be into horses. :D

Sandy

I just love this horse. I have a few favorites. She is at the top of the list. ; )

Finally a decent picture of this gal.

Admittedly, I'm not a good photographer. However, this gal Finally stood still long enough for me to take her picture. She's Usually up in my face or has one of those Eeyore looks going on. She is the hardest horse I have to take a picture of. I think CC looks pretty darn good. She has grown a bit, and now is a good solid 14.2. I'm hoping to send her to a trainer here shortly. She is still for sale. If interested, please contact me privately. Here's her pedigree if your interested.

My adorable Grandson. He's starting to smile quite a lot now. He coo's and is starting to hit things with his hands. He's quite the little cuddle bug too. Not that I'm complaining. I wonder if he'll like horses as much as his mom and I do. No matter, time will tell. His brother does like horses, but he is quite afraid of them when they are full grown. The only one he's Not afraid of is Cotie for some strange reason. Who knows. Maybe he senses something I don't around the others.

THE WARMTH OF A HORSE

The Warmth Of A Horse

By Shelly Whiting

~//~

When your day seems out of balance
And so many things go wrong...

When people fight around you
And the clock drags on so long...
When some folks act like children
And fill you with remorse...
Go out into your pasture
Wrap your arms around your horse.
His gentle breath enfolds you
As he watches with those eyes...
He may not have a PhD
But he is, oh so so wise!
His head rests on your shoulder
You hug him good and tight...
He puts your world in balance
And makes it seem all right.
Your tears will soon stop flowing
The tension will be eased...
The nonsense has been lifted
You are quiet and at peace.
So when you need some balance
From the stresses in your day...
The therapy you really need
Is out there eating hay!
